Information for Dr. Plotkin's primary care/internal medicine patients, sports medicine patients, and sports performance athletes will be found on this site. Dr. Plotkin practices both internal medicine and sports medicine in Olney, Maryland. The majority of his practice is devoted to traditional internal medicine. Dr. Plotkin sees patients in his office, at local hospitals, and local nursing homes. In addition, a small portion of Dr. Plotkin's practice is devoted to sports medicine. Patient's with musculoskeletal injuries and sports related medical conditions are seen in Dr. Plotkin's office and at local athletic events. Currently, Dr. Plotkin follows the Blake High School football team and he has volunteered at the Marine Corps Marathon, Hoop Dreams, and other local sporting events in the past. Dr. Plotkin attended the University of Maryland where he earned a B.S. in Zoology. His research at that time was concentrated in the field of neuroelectrophysiology. While at the University of Maryland he ran cross country and track. He attended medical school at the University of Maryland as well. His residency in internal medicine was completed at Indiana University Medical Center. He completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Hughston Clinic. During his fellowship Dr. Plotkin received training in musculoskeletal injuries, sports medicine medical conditions, sports medicine event coverage, and performed research studying anaerobic power in athletes.
